Developer of upcoming eco mall Al Araimi Boulevard honoured
Lebanon, Kuwait and Dubai.
Dubbed as the Westfield of Oman, the upcoming mall in Al Khoudh will be spread over two floors across 147,200sq m. It is scheduled to open in September 2018.
Developed by the Al Raid Group in cooperation with Design International and Kaosys, the mall is estimated to cost RO62mn. It will have 250 outlets, ten cinema halls, 20 restaurants and a parking lot for around 3,000 cars.
Sheikh Raid Abdullah Ali al Araimi, vice chairman of Al Raid Group, said, “The mall is going to be a one-stop destination for every family and visitor. We will have the largest food court everbuilt in Oman to accommodate more than 1,000 people. The boulevard will offer a 6,000sq m entertainment area for live shows and other performances.”
He added that Omanisation will be the key target and the mall is expected to create 800 direct and 1,200 indirect jobs.
David Macadam, CEO of MECSC said, “The mall will cater to a large section of Omani population. It will be an incredible experience to visit the place. There has been massive evolution in malls from the inclusion of cinema to children’s playgrounds in the last few decades. I see edutainment becoming part of the mall culture.”
Among the many facilities it will have include fountains and exotic gardens, kids’ planet and a ten-screen cinema complex with four DX cinema screens. A mall app will allow shoppers to know of available parking lots, reserve tables at restaurants, place orders, receive smart bills and know about the latest offers.
