Sports management course on finance begins
A specialised sports management course in finance organised by Oman Olympic Committee (OOC) set off at Oman Sailing premises within the framework of the Olympic Solidarity’s 2018 programmes approved by OOC Board.
In attendance were Taha bin Sulaiman al Kishry, OOC secretary general, the lecturer, Dr Munzir bin Hilal al Busaidi, assistant professor and assistant dean for Training and Commu- nity Service at Sultan Qaboos University, and the participating 22 employees involved in finance in sports associations and committees and other partnering sports organisations.
In an opening address, Kishry welcomed the lecturer, participants and attendants on behalf of OOC Board and thanked Oman Sail for hosting the course. He further spoke about the role of OOC in activating the programmes and course s covering all administrative, financial and technical aspects with a view to uplifting productivity of employees of sports organisations in the sultanate.
Dr Busaidi addressed the audience expressing his thanks and appreciation to OOC Board for its continuing keenness to allow for such courses, which contribute to honing the skills and increasing the experiences of cadres working in OOC and sports associations and commit- tees in the field of finance.
Thereafter, the lecturer delivered his first lecture which dealt with accounting and its objectives and the accounting steps taken upon recording, classifying and preparing financial statements.
This course is part of a series of programmes in sports management approved by OOC Board of Directors. OOC has always been keen to maximise the use of such programmes.
