Let’s not forget, that where we live is no doubt on someone else’s bucket list. Your backyard is someone else’s dream destination. So, when the time comes, perhaps plan a domestic trip first.
Revamp your travel bucket list
Check out what plans you have in store and restructure them so as to suit the new normal. You might have to rearrange destinations and dates as per new priorities. Make flexible plans and rebook what has been cancelled due to the pandemic such that there's plenty of time in between.
While you’re stuck at home, take this time to re-assess your bucket list, so that when the pandemic is finally over and it’s safe to travel, you will be ready with practical plans.
Focus more on domestic travel
Remember, domestic borders will open before international borders do. So, if you’re longing to go for an international trip, keep that on the back burner and make new plans for domestic travel that will fulfill your craving for travel.
Let’s not forget, that where we live is no doubt on someone else’s bucket list. Your backyard is someone else’s dream destination. So, when the time comes, perhaps plan a domestic trip first. Do all those things you always wanted to do like backroads touring, camping or simply parking yourself on a farmstead with a
fabulous fireplace.
Organise your travel images
If you have not got the time to sort out and preserve the images and videos of previous travel, now's the time to do it. By doing this, you can not only get things sorted out but also be able to revisit those memories and relive the fun and frolic. Download stuff, categorise images, place captions and foot
Create a travel memoir
I am sure there are many of you out there that sometimes wish you have a better travel log. Well, there is no time like the present to start that journal, memoir or even a blog.
You can write in a traditional travel diary, do some bullet journaling or write in a blog. It can be image heavy, about your actual experiences or about the lessons you learnt. Documenting your travels is a great way to reminisce and be nostalgic. It’s also a wonderful way to remember the things you did.
Plan your next big trip
Just because we can’t travel now doesn’t mean we can’t start planning! It may be difficult to get accurate prices for flights and accommodation now, but you can plan your itinerary. This is best time to be doing research and you can even do it slowly. Work out some of the best things to do, see, eat at whatever destination you wish to go. Read those travel blogs, buy those magazines and look through social media.
If you are planning a big group holiday, you can continue the planning with your friends. It would be nice to have something new to talk about when you’re all on your virtual chats. And, it is also nice to be able to have something to look forward to. It is a good way of 'detoxing' yourself from COVID-19 concerns.
