Muscat airport earns ACI Airport Health Accreditation

Muscat – Muscat International Airport, managed and operated by Oman Airports, has become the first airport in the Middle East to achieve the Airports Council International (ACI) Airport Health Accreditation. The certification is based on a programme designed to assist airports by assessing new health measures and procedures introduced as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. It recognises Muscat International Airport’s commitment to prioritising health and safety measures in accordance with industry best practices and international health and safety protocols.

“Health and safety have always been a top priority for Oman Airports. In achieving this global health accreditation, Muscat International Airport once again demonstrates its team’s commitment to taking the appropriate steps to reduce the risk of exposure at our airports,” said Saud bin Nasser al Hobeishi, deputy CEO of Oman Airports. “We are delighted to have achieved the ACI Airport Health Accreditation, which demonstrates the company’s ongoing commitment to deliver safe and healthy travel experience at all times and in all circumstances.”

The Airport Health Accreditation programme was established to restore confidence in travellers about the safety of airport facilities and the effectiveness of the precautionary measures implemented to prevent any risk to their health. This accreditation is recognition of all the COVID-19 measures that Oman Airports has been implementing at Muscat International Airport since the onset of the pandemic.
