The nine-day Indian festival Navratri is a time of celebration. It is also a time for family bonding. Due to the pandemic this year, the celebrations in the sultanate are being held online with traditional music and dance events being organised over nine nights from October 17 to 25.

During Navratri, Ekata Muscat is where renowned artistes presented their performances in Karnatic and Hindustani compositions in earlier years.

Aravind, president of Ekata Muscat, said, “Every year we have a gathering in Muscat where as many as 200 people come on a daily basis for nine days. This year we have not stopped the practice and have gone online.

“We will not disappoint anyone and we have the signature programme, Navratri Sangeetholsavam, nine consecutive days of classical concerts with various performers from Oman and abroad.”

The event is being livestreamed on Ekata Muscat’s Facebook page, YouTube channel and Zoom from 7pm to 9pm.
