Online medical consultation app to launch on Jan 26
A smartphone app providing remote medical consultation for patients will be launched on January 26 by Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry (OCCI).
Called ‘Tabibk Jnbk’ - ‘Your doc by your side’ – the app will be launched under the patronage of Eng Reda bin Juma al Saleh, chairman of OCCI, at its headquarters in Ruwi.
The app will provide remote online medical evaluation for patients without leaving home. It includes a database of medical and health services, and provides easy and quick access to these services.
Tabibk Jnbk will make it easy for citizens, residents, visitors and tourists in the sultanate to find a doctor anywhere in Oman at the click of a button.
The app has a map of the sultanate displaying all healthcare establishments - hospitals, health complexes and centres, clinics, pharmacies and mobile health services - for services categorised under Your Doc by Your Side, Your Doc for Consultation, Home Healthcare, and Your Doc for Emergency.
Tabibk Jnbk includes seven sections - basic data of healthcare facilities including pharmacies, opticians and medical laboratories; Your Doctor for Consultations allows users to conduct online conversations with doctors with the provision to send photographs.
The third section is a window for medical practitioners to register themselves as willing to provide home healthcare, while the fourth section allows allied health professionals such as nurses, physiotherapist and cupping therapists to provide continuous and comprehensive care and follow-up.
The fifth section allows life coaches to carry out conversations with patients (confidentiality assured) to help them define goals and encourage them to effect change in their life.
The sixth section is designed for emergency doctors; it provides quick assistance by listing the nearest paramedics, doctors, hospitals or ambulances.
The last section is educational and includes awareness videos and tips for emergencies. It also has reliable health publications and announcements of the Ministry of health and external health organisations.
