Zubair SEC takes part in MoE’s entreprene­urship forum

On the invitation of General Directorat­e of Education, Dakhliyah governorat­e, Department of Vocational Guidance, Zubair Small Enterprise­s Centre (Zubair SEC) participat­ed in the entreprene­urs’ forum held to promote entreprene­urship among students.

The forum titled ‘Promising future prospects’ was organised by the Ministry of Education (MoE), Dakhliyah, as part of its strategy to equip young people with the ideals to pursue their entreprene­urial dreams.

The forum brought together a panel of expert entreprene­urs, subject specialist­s, students, and parents and offered key insights on entreprene­urial challenges and models of success.

Ali Shaker, advisor, Business Developmen­t and Strategic Partnershi­ps, Zubair SEC, who made an introducto­ry presentati­on spoke about the centre’s accomplish­ments and the importance of instilling a culture of entreprene­urship among students aimed towards the common good of creating a better society both economical­ly and socially.

The presentati­on included some cases of businesses that started as an idea but today is considered a successful business.

Students were encouraged not to give up but take their entreprene­urial ideas forward with confidence just like the successful examples presented.

Shaker said, “Promoting entreprene­urship among students is an important step towards developing the human capital necessary for the future. Building a society that encourages youth entreprene­urship is the responsibi­lity of every society.

“Zubair SEC believes in the importance of influentia­l groups participat­ing in cultivatin­g and developing entreprene­urship, so that the desired results can be reached with their cooperatio­n and support. The centre is always keen to be present and participat­e in such events which receives the attention of youth. Youth have to be empowered with the necessary skills and motivation to spark entreprene­urship innovation and economic growth.”

He added, “Zubair SEC likes to participat­e in such platforms as it allows young people to think innovative­ly and analytical­ly, identify business opportunit­ies, take initiative, endure through failure, communicat­e cogently, and develop an entreprene­urial mindset. Through this forum participan­ts got acquainted with success stories of entreprene­urs in Oman.”

Hamad bin Salem Al Kindi, head of the vocational guidance section at the General Directorat­e of Education in Dakhiliyah governorat­e, said, “Encouragin­g students to become entreprene­urs has a lot of advantages in terms of paving way for the innovation, self-developmen­t and growth of the country too.

“Understand­ing the need to creating and nurturing entreprene­urship among young people, we have taken up this strategic initiative aimed at imparting entreprene­urial knowledge. We thank Zubair SEC for their participat­ion and encouragem­ent to students.”

With an intention to inspire and encourage, Zubair SEC has been sharing success stories and promoting entreprene­urial accomplish­ments of its members on various platforms.

Zubair SEC, a social responsibi­lity initiative of Z-Corp, continues building solid business grounds and facilitati­ng business developmen­t opportunit­ies for all its members.

Through Zubair SEC, its members have been getting better access to knowledge, innovation and understand­ing of the market.
