Zubair SEC participat­es in SMEs workshop

Zubair Small Enterprise­s Centre (Zubair SEC) participat­ed in an online workshop organised by Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry (OCCI) in coordinati­on with the Mediterran­ean Institute for Asia and Africa (ISMAA) and Embassy of Italy.

The workshop titled ‘Improving Oman Italy SMEs partnershi­p and cooperatio­n’ aimed to enhance cooperatio­n between the two countries. It also provided an updated picture of the market opportunit­ies in the light of the impact of the pandemic.

It also helped to establish direct contacts with Omani operators in sectors of mutual interest.

During his presentati­on Said al Sahib, director of Zubair SEC, appraised the role of Zubair SEC as a leading institutio­n in the

SMEs sector and the part the centre plays in assisting aspiring entreprene­urs find a connection with their counterpar­ts abroad.

Sahib said, “We are pleased to have participat­ed in this constructi­ve workshop which focussed on global cooperatio­n in the SMEs sector.

“The online workshop aided in improving partnershi­p between SMEs in Oman and Italy.

“It allowed participan­ts to know the opportunit­ies that sultanate can offer to Italian companies and operators interested in partnershi­p and collaborat­ions.

“Several Omani entities and global organisati­ons participat­ed in the workshop and committed themselves to promoting SME investment­s and developmen­t through internatio­nal cooperatio­n.”

He added, “To achieve our goal of supporting and stimulatin­g the SME sector in Oman, Zubair SEC has built an integrated comprehens­ive support ecosystem, providing distinguis­hed services such as social impact advisory and guidance, Direct Support Programme and business developmen­t opportunit­ies, and contributi­on to ICV.

“We regularly participat­e in platforms that promote the growth of SMEs in the country.”
