Oxy Oman provides devices to schools
As part of its social responsibility to local communities, Occidental Oman recently provided 60 temperature measuring devices for all schools in Al Wusta governorate, where company concession areas are also located. The project aims to support safety in school education, in response to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.
The project provided temperature scanners to be used at all 26 schools in the Al Wusta area, in order to comply with precautionary measures provided by the Ministry of Education, which include temperature checks, use of sterilisers, face masks, and physical distancing in classes for low density schools.
The scanners will be used to scan each student’s temperature at school entrances in order to limit the spread of COVID-19, as most schools within Al Wusta governorate are operating on-site.
This initiative continues Occidental Oman support for COVID-19 related initiatives in the past year, as the company has sponsored an E-Platform for teachers in collaboration with the Ministry of Education, provided support to Dar al Atta’a’s COVID-19 campaign, supported Ibri Hospital with medical equipment, as well as sponsored flu vaccine shots in collaboration with the Ministry of Health.
“Occidental Oman is keen to support local communities within our concession areas, particularly as this project addresses the health and well-being of school students,” said Stephen Kelly, president and General Manager of Occidental Oman. “We are hopeful that the provision of these temperature scanners will aid in the safety of students.”
