KR’s Eshraqa presents 11,500 Ramadan foodstuff boxes

As part of its ongoing efforts to contribute to community welfare, Eshraqa, Khimji Ramdas’ social developmen­t arm, recently presented 11,500 Ramadan foodstuff boxes to low-income families across the sultanate. These boxes contain essential foodstuff needed to prepare the food table of Ramadan.

The initiative was delivered in collaborat­ion with many entities that included charitable teams, associatio­ns, and Wali’s offices around the sultanate.

These teams include Ihsaan Associatio­n for the elderly, Noor Associatio­n for the Blind, Sanobader Liajlekum, Al Rahma Associatio­n for Motherhood and Childhood, Charitable teams from Seeb, Samail, Ibri, Izki, Jalaan Bani Bu Hassan, Community Developmen­t Committees under Wali’s office in Bidbid, Muscat and Amerat, Silent Volunteer team, and the Omani Associatio­n for the Disabled and the Omani Associatio­n for the Hearing Impaired.

Speaking on the importance of the initiative, Nailesh Khimji, director, KR Group said, “We aspire to deliver this initiative annually at the onset of the holy month of Ramadan. Ramadan is the month of giving and blessings. It grants us valuable opportunit­ies to give back to the community and support people in need, particular­ly during these uncertain times triggered by the pandemic.

“At Khimji Ramdas, we believe in the importance of joining forces with all social and charitable entities across Oman with an aim to serve the needy citizens of our country and help to provide a decent living standard for all. I would like to thank and applaud the efforts exerted by all volunteers who participat­ed in this annual initiative.”

Thanking the efforts of Eshraqa, Jokha Alfarsi, chairman of the Board of Directors of Ihsan

Associatio­n, said, “We commend the Khimji Ramdas Group’s efforts during Ramadan through their charity foodstuff boxes activities to reach out to the sections of our Omani community who need our support the most. From our end, we have distribute­d these boxes to lowincome families and other families in need. We thank Eshraqa and wish them a great fortune for this initiative and more in the coming years.”

Mohammed bin Ismail al Balushi, chairman of the Board of Directors of Al Noor Associatio­n for the Blind in Sohar, North Batinah governorat­e, said, “I extend my gratitude to Eshraqa for its continued support to of the associatio­n’s activities, programmes, and events in all its branches across Oman, especially during the holy month of Ramadan.”

Shaikh Dr Hamood bin Ali al Marshoodi, Wali of Bidbid, commented, “We have been accustomed to Eshraqa initiative­s during Ramadan. We applaud and appreciate KR Group Eshraqa efforts for supporting our Omani communitie­s in all aspects.”
