In its commitment to support the elderly and needy families, Ihsaan Association has provided 20 oxygen concentrators in cooperation with the Directorate General of Health Services of Muscat Governorate in the month of June.

Speaking to Muscat Daily, Jokha Mohammed Khamis al Farsi, head and founder of the association, informed that it has signed an agreement with Mitsui E&P Middle East BV, an oil and gas business, to provide 100 medical beds for the care for the elderly.

“Our association also provides free ambulance services to help the elderly and people with disabilities reach hospitals for routine check-ups and other healthcare needs. We received more than 1,351 families during the month of June at our headquarters to acquaint them with the services of the association. We raise awareness on respecting and valuing our elders,” Jokha said.

“We helped 75 elderly persons reach hospitals in Muscat in June alone. All safety measures, like sterilising the ambulances daily, are undertaken to avoid the spread of COVID-19. We provide medical aid for the elderly at low cost.”

The association has four ambulances, named Kafah (Struggle), Atta (Giving), Hiba (Gift), and Amal (Hope).

This year, it launched an initiative to transfer the dead from their homes to hospital and later the cemetery to relieve their bereaved families.

“Ihsaan Association aims to strengthen bonds between members of society and encourage caring for the elderly. We hold awareness seminars for community members, including schools and Omani women’s associations, highlighting the need to help and assist the elderly,” Jokha said. She informed that the association will continue its awareness campaign in all the wilayats of the sultanate.
