HM condoles death of Sheikh Khalifa

Abu Dhabi, UAE - His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik flew to Abu Dhabi on Saturday to extend his condolence­s to Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed al Nahyan, President of the United Arab Emirates, the Al Nahyan family and the brotherly Emirati people on passing away of the late President of UAE Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed al Nahyan.

His Majesty the Sultan expressed his condolence­s and sympathy for the deceased, praying to God Almighty to bless him with His vast mercy and to rest the deceased’s soul in peace in Paradise and to give Sheikh Mohamed, his family and the Emirati people patience and solace.

On his part, Sheikh Mohamed expressed his appreciati­on to His Majesty the Sultan and his accompanyi­ng delegation for their condolence­s and sympathy, praying to the Almighty to preserve His Majesty in good health and to spare him and the Omani people all evil and harm.

hM mourns death of sheikh Khalifa

Earlier on Friday, His Majesty the Sultan mourned the passing away of Sheikh Khalifa.

A statement issued by the Diwan of Royal Court read as follows: ‘With full faith in the Almighty Allah’s divine destiny and judgment and with profound sorrow and grief, His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik has received the news of death of his brother, the forgiven, by the will

of Allah, Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed al Nahyan, President of the UAE.

‘The deceased was one of the Arab leaders who served their Arab and Islamic nations and led the UAE with determinat­ion and perseveran­ce until it became a landmark in all fields.

‘His Majesty the Sultan has issued Royal orders announcing a state of mourning. Flags will be flown at half mast in the public and private sectors, as well as embassies of Oman abroad, for three days starting from Friday, May 13 to Sunday, May 15.

‘While sharing with the Emirati people their sorrow and grief over this immense loss, the leadership, government and people in Oman pray to the Almighty Allah to rest the deceased in peace in Paradise, along with the devout and the faithful, and to grant his family and the Emirati people fortitude to bear the loss.

‘To the Almighty Allah we belong, and to Him we shall return.’
