Global HSE conference, exhibition kicks off
The eighth edition of the Global Health, Safety and Environment Conference and Exhibition kicked off on Monday under the patronage of H E Said bin Hamood bin Said al Mawali, Minister of Transport, Communications and Information Technology.
The conference will witness the participation of 100+ expert speakers in the field and welcome more than 1,500 participants from 25 countries.
Hosted by the Ministry of Energy and Minerals, Petroleum Development Oman, Saudi Aramco, OQ and OPAL, under the theme ‘HSE Excellence - Leadership, Sustainability and
Technology,’ the conference is taking place at Oman Convention and Exhibition Centre till May 19.
This edition of the conference aims to continue creating a sustainable and premium platform to discuss the challenges faced by the industry and community, and conclude with solutions for protecting the lives of people and the environment.
The event will shed light on three pillars – leadership commitment, use of technology and mainstream focus on sustainable goals that organisations can persist in the current competitive and challenging market while having to meet legal requirements and communities’ expectations.
The conference will address the importance of HSE for human capital development and its impact on economic and social development aligned with Oman’s industrial modernisation and production efficiency.
The conference will include five high-level keynote address sessions, seven panel discussions, 17 technical sessions and seven workshops that will address several important topics, including Process Safety Management, International HSE Management Standards, Pandemic Risk and Response Management for Major Industries, Energy Efficiency and Climate Change, and successful practical experiences in the areas of HSE.
Besides the conference, an accompanying exhibition will be held with the participation of more than 50 companies - local, regional and international - to showcase the latest technological advancements and expertise related to HSE, including devices, equipment and modern system applications.
