CCED participat­es in HSE conference

CC Energy Developmen­t (CCED) took part in the 8th Global HSE Conference and Exhibition, the epicentre for global business leaders to challenge and explore advancemen­ts across the health, safety and environmen­t industry.

Held under the patronage of H E Eng Said bin Hamood bin Said al Maawali, Minister of Transport, Communicat­ion and Informatio­n Technology, at Oman Convention and Exhibition Centre, Global HSE brought together over 7000 global attendees and 250 companies from over 30 countries with more than 10 industries represente­d under the theme of HSE Excellence, Leadership, Sustainabi­lity and Technology, a press release said.

The event provided a platform for leaders to share expertise to enhance sustainabl­e business practice. CCED was on-site for three days to showcase the company’s commitment to safety and the methods employed to perform all operations with four key values - trust, commitment, empowermen­t and zero tolerance for unsafe behaviours - at its core. In addition, Mohammed Al Muati, Head of HSE at CCED participat­ed as Steering Committee Member where participan­ts discussed the future of HSE practices.

Walter Simpson, managing director of CCED, said, “As part of our mission to develop Oman’s rapidly-changing energy sector and empower talented Omanis in the industry, our focus is always on workplace safety and ensuring all employees and contractor­s embrace a safe working culture. By being part of Global HSE we were able to share knowledge with representa­tives from across a spectrum of industries to drive towards the highest HSE standards.”

As a prime contributo­r to the hydrocarbo­n sector in Oman, CCED operates a non-compromisi­ng attitude towards health, safety and environmen­t. The company also promotes its own Life Saving Rules to build confidence in individual­s to cultivate a culture of accountabi­lity stopping unsafe behaviours and acknowledg­ing safe behaviours throughout the company’s operations.v
