Restoring hope for 50 more wounded Yemenis
The seven-year long conflict in Yemen has devastated the country and has left thousands maimed for life. One Omani institution that is providing a healing touch and restoring hope among those who have been crippled is the Arabian Prosthetics Center (APC) in Salalah, Dhofar.
The prosthetics centre has been on a humanitarian mission helping over 750 war-injured Yemenis get back on their feet so far.

‘APC in Salalah received 50 wounded Yemenis for treatment and medical care. The 13th batch of amputees, who were affected by the war in Yemen, are at the centre for motor training and rehabilitation,’ the centre stated.
Sheikh Hammoud Saeed al Mekhlafi, founder of APC, expressed his thanks to the government and to His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik for the humanitarian efforts made by the sultanate towards Yemen and Yemenis embroiled in the war.
He added that “the sultanate supported the establishment of the centre in a fraternal humanitarian stance that deserves appreciation, bringing joy to the hearts of many Yemeni families”.
On May 12, a delegation from the Dutch embassy in Oman visited the centre.
