The project consists of four pumping stations, with a maximum capacity of 144,000m3 per day, and a pipeline running parallel to the current water line from Sohar to Buraimi. This pipeline will also meet future needs of Buraimi governorate by linking the two water transmission systems at a number of stations between the governorates of North Batinah, South Batinah, Dhahirah and Buraimi.

Through this project, OWWSC aims to ensure water supply operations to the wilayats of Dhahirah, which depended mainly on groundwater to meet drinking water needs and for development activities.
