Marsa Al Duqm Investment and Marafiq sign a MOU
Marsa Al Duqm Investment Company signed with the Centralized Utilities Company (Marafiq) a memorandum of understanding (MOU) about the provision of power, water, and sewage management services to Duqm Fishery Port.
The MOU was signed by Eng Nabil bin Salim al Bimani, chairman of Marsa Al Duqm Investments, and Eng Abdullah bin Mohamed al Hashimi, Marafiq's managing director.
"The MOU signing between the two parties is considering the possibility of the provision of services to Duqm Fishery Port, the sultanate's biggest fishing port, which is the focal point of fisheries support business and all fishing activities as well as a great attraction for investment which develops the supporting sectors," Bimani said in a press release.
Bimani absolutely trusted that such MOU would have economic and environmental benefits achieving the sultanate's planned sustainable development goals, most importantly environmental sustainability.

Specialised in the provision of industrial services of all types, Marafiq endeavors to provide Duqm Fishery Port with highly reliable, efficient services, maintain high quality standards in all of our operations and adopt environmentally friendly practices for Duqm is the cornerstone for Oman Vision 2040 that achieves the future development goals,” Hashimi said.
“We trust that our capabilities and resources can bring longterm, sustainable benefits for all of our stakeholders across the various supporting sectors and industries as well as all supply chain activities," he added.
Marafiq is the exclusive provider of a range of centralized utilities in Duqm Special Economic Zone under a 25-year franchise from the Public Authority for Special Economic Zones and Free Zones.
Having a 25-year license, Marafiq was awarded the franchise of potable water supply to Duqm Special Economic Zone. It is responsible for the potable water supply inside Duqm, including production, transmission, distribution, customer service, billing, and collection.
