Bank Muscat opens new Green Sports field
Bank Muscat, the leading financial institution in Oman, has announced the opening of the Al Qabas Sports Team’s field in the wilayat of Jalan Bani Bu Ali.
The event was held under the patronage of Sheikh Nasser Said Salim al Sinani, Director of Culture, Sports and Youth, South Sharqiyah, in the presence of Sami Mohammed al Kindi, regional manager - South Sharqiyah and Majed Mohammed al Ghailani, head of the Al Qabas Sports Team besides a number of team members.
“Bank Muscat is delighted to inaugurate the Al Qabas Sports Team’s Green Sports field, which was implemented by the bank as part of its pioneering role in CSR,” Sami al Kindi said. “We appreciate the efforts and would like to congratulate the Al Qabas Sports Team’s management for the successful the implementation of this project.”
“There is no doubt that the new field and facilities will greatly contribute to the team’s overall growth and success as well as bring about greater community bonding. We wish them all success for the future,” Kindi added.
Majed al Ghailani from the Al Qabas Sports Team thanked the bank for the completion of the artificial turf system.
Pointing out that the new sports field will now be used to organise different sports, social and cultural activities and events, he affirmed that the team would continue to work hard to develop the capabilities and talents of its members. He also emphasised the team management’s keenness to contribute strongly to local sports in Oman.
The bank requested youth sports teams interested to apply for Green Sports assistance this year to note that the bank will be accepting applications for the 2023 edition of Green Sports till February 18.
Bank Muscat’s Green Sports programme is one of the leading CSR programmes in Oman, which provides support to local sports teams as part of the bank’s efforts to develop sports infrastructure in Omani sports and provide green spaces throughout Oman.
The scope of support under the Green Sports programme include installation of artificial turf or natural grass on sports fields, floodlighting and water-desalination systems.
On the occasion of the programme’s tenth anniversary in 2021, the bank increased the number of annual beneficiaries to 20 teams annually.
