MG Motor records 40% sales growth in M E in 2023

-

MG Motor continues to rise up the rankings of the GCC’S top ten car manufacturers as the brand secured 6th position with an unprecedented sales performance in 2022.

The past year concluded with MG recording a remarkable 4.7 per cent market share, with total sales of 57,506 units. The company’s achievements are particularly impressive considering the competition it faces from rising Chinese brands in the GCC market, a press release said.

This remarkable milestone could not have been achieved without the exceptional support from MG’S dealer network and the aggressive expansion plans the brand has implemented. As a result, the brand now has a total of 49 showrooms in the region, currently open, with six new showrooms pencilled in for opening in the first half of 2023.

The brand has always focused on ensuring the highest standard of customer service, with four new facilities opening in the first six months of 2023, adding to the 64 state-of-the-art facilities already used by MG customers.

MG continues has registered double-digit growth ever since it kicked off its operations in the Middle East region, and in 2022 the brand’s sales increased by 40 per cent. MG is now one of the top six automotive brands in the region, and continues to lead by recording large increases in market share across the GCC. Customers continue to show their appreciation for the Britishborn brand’s products, with MG5 and MGZS being the best performing models across the year.

Tom Lee, managing director of MG Motor’s Middle East operations, commented, “MG has recorded another year of extraordinary growth in the region despite the ambitious goals we have set for ourselves and the slew of new competitors. The growing awareness, popularity and desire for the MG brand has been really evident as we have maximised accessibility to the brand for customers across our nine markets, and as we look to introduce two new markets in the first three months of 2023.”
