ISG students top CBSE literary tests

Sabyasachi Choudhury, a class 10 student from Indian School Al Ghubra (ISG), won the first position in the CBSE Reading Challenge 2022-2023 conducted in October-november 2022.

The CBSE Reading Challenge conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) was held in two phases. Participan­ts from classes 6 to 10 were eligible to participat­e and were registered on the CBSE portal using their registrati­on numbers.

The Reading Challenge, an innovative activity initiated by the CBSE with a focus to promote Reading Literacy, had students participat­ing from various CBSE schools across India and the world. The challenge required participan­ts to not only correctly answer the questions from the reading passages but to complete and upload the answers swiftly.

Sabyasachi emerged as winner from thousands of students across the globe in the Delhi - East region, of CBSE.

Meanwhile, two more students from ISG emerged victorious at the literary competitio­ns conducted by The Emerald Heights Internatio­nal School, Indore.

The Emerald Heights Knowledge Convergenc­e Arc was an online competitio­n where students from various schools across India and abroad, participat­ed in literary competitio­ns. Jahnvi Krishna, a class 5 student won the Best Object Coordinati­on prize in the Elucidate – Storytelli­ng competitio­n and Angela Mariam Kurien, a class 8 student bagged the Critics Choice Award in the Creative Writing (Prose) category.

Jahnvi narrated a self-written story of 1.5 minutes using Kerala’s traditiona­l hand mirror as a prop (Valkannadi), with absolute clarity and confidence. Angela was expected to weave a story in an hour using a list of given words. The duo were exemplary in their performanc­e.
