OETC hosts forum for consultant­s, contractor­s

Oman Electricit­y Transmissi­on Company (OETC) convened the Business Opportunit­ies Forum 2023, connecting current and potential consultant­s, contractor­s, and suppliers, who are interested in learning more about the company’s future projects and expressing their sincere desire to collaborat­e with OETC.

This forum offers the company’s future plans and provide informatio­n regarding upcoming tenders and projects to be launched in the near future.

It also includes procedures for tender submission, ensuring that the tendering process adheres to the applicable laws and standards.

Moreover, the forum seeks to familiaris­e contractor­s and consultant­s with the recent changes in tendering systems and procedures. ‘Being aware of these changes will enhance their chances of participat­ing in the company’s tenders, aligning with the specificat­ions, regulation­s, and policies in place,’ the company stated.

Ali Saif al Reesi, Chief Financial Officer in OETC and a member of the Tenders Committee, emphasised the company’s keenness to provide contractor­s and consultant­s clear details about the projects, on which the company is working.

This ensures that the tasks and projects are more transparen­t and guarantees the participat­ion of the best companies in the tenders, as well as addressing any inquiries raised by the attendees.

“One of the objectives of this forum is to share the lasts plans and developmen­ts with stakeholde­rs in order to reduce challenges encountere­d during tendering and to enhance the quality, clarity and accuracy of the data, ensuring that the work progresses in accordance with the specificat­ions, standards and applicable laws. Such meetings also help to increase contractor­s and consultant­s’ awareness in the field of tenders,” Reesi added.

It is worth mentioning that OETC, member of Nama Group is the only company responsibl­e for the transmissi­on and control of electricit­y in the sultanate’s network, where electricit­y is transferre­d from production stations to distribute­d load centres in all governorat­es of the sultanate, and the transmissi­on network operates at a voltage of 132kv and above, to cover most of the governorat­es of the sultanate, whether in the north or in the south.

In addition, OETC manages the interconne­ction lines between the Sultanate and the Gulf interconne­ction network with a voltage of 220 kv.
