ISWK ‘empowers future leaders’ through Investiture Ceremony
With immense gratification and integrity, ISWK proudly invested its elected Student Council members and office bearers for the academic year 2023-2024 earlier this month.
Captain Harish Srinivasan, defence advisor at the Indian Embassy in Muscat, was the chief guest for the stately Investiture Ceremony.
Gargi Chugh, honorary president of the school management committee (SMC) of ISWK International, Rajesh Soneji, coconvenor and co-treasurer of the SMC, principal D N Rao, vice principals and parents were present in the school multi-purpose hall on this august occasion.
The chief guest was ushered in with elaborate fanfare. After the lighting of the ceremonial lamp by the chief guest and other dignitaries, the school Western Music choir offered a heartfelt prayer song.
The Investiture Ceremony commenced with the presentation of badges to the members of the head council as well as the house office bearers by the chief guest who conferred the badges of both the senior as well as junior categories - Vardhan Sameer Dhat (senior head boy), Sienna Shibu (senior head girl), Johann Gladson (junior head boy), Sarah Khan (junior head girl), Sajad Ahmed Shaikh (senior deputy head boy), Aagna Bhavin Kothari (senior deputy head girl), Sreehari Prasanth (junior deputy head boy), Aishani Sudhakara Shetty (junior deputy head girl), Jamil Ahmed (boy sports coordinator senior), Jayavarsaa Sivakumar (girl sports coordinator senior), Faaz Ahmed (boy sports coordinator junior), Tapasya Tilwani (girl sports coordinator junior), Ashwanth Jayakumar (boy cultural coordinator senior), Tarnjot Kaur (girl cultural coordinator senior), Mithil Vekatesh (boy cultural coordinator junior), Fathima Sheikh (girl cultural coordinator junior), Vinayak Vinod Kumar (boy public relations coordinator), Harshini Tiruvottriyur (girl public relations coordinator), Samuel Paul Seeralan (boy public relations coordinator junior) and Joshika Bellary Polapally (girl public relations coordinator junior).
The newly appointed Prefects of Classes 6 to 12 were invested by Rajesh Soneji, ISWK-SMC coconvenor and co-treasurer.
In his address to the elected student body, Captain Harish Srinivasan reminded them of their noteworthy status and the responsibility that they would be required to shoulder.
He emphasised on the need for young people to take on professional services with the Indian Armed Forces, as it offered each one an opportunity to do one’s bit for the nation and also gave officers a lifetime of experiences to cherish and feel proud of.
The chief guest’s inspiring speech was followed by the formal signing of the oath of office. In the presence of Captain Harish Srinivasan, Gargi Chugh and D N Rao, the head boy, head girl, deputy head boy and deputy head girl of both the senior and junior categories ratified the dath as a symbol of acceptance of their duties and responsibilities vested upon them.
Donning their new roles as student leaders, committed to lead from the front, one could feel a new wave of enthusiasm surging within them.
To mark the end of the solemn proceedings, the school’s Hindustani choir captured the emotions of the student leaders in the words of a stimulating song, sapne.
The programme concluded with the rendition of the national anthem and everyone captured the mood of the day with an elaborate and vibrant photo-session.
