H M, President sisi review areas of cooperatio­n, opportunit­ies to boost these to new Horizons

Cairo, Egypt - His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik concluded his visit to the Arab Republic of Egypt and returned home on Monday.

Earlier in the day, His Majesty the Sultan met President Abdul Fattah el Sisi of Egypt at Qubba Palace in Cairo.

During the meeting, the two leaders reviewed areas of cooperatio­n between the two countries and opportunit­ies of boosting these towards broader horizons in a manner that serves the joint interests of the two countries. They also touched on several matters of common concern.

Later in the day, His Majesty paid a visit to the new administra­tive capital, including the government quarter. He inspected the yard of the Grand Mosque, an Islamic architectu­ral edifice that takes centre stage in the area, and Dar al Quran (Holy Quran House) at the Islamic Cultural Centre, where entire chapters of the Holy Quran are carved on walls of the dar.

His Majesty also toured the City of Arts and Culture, intended to be a global destinatio­n, comprising a range of modern buildings and facilities. There, His Majesty visited the Opera House and viewed a presentati­on about it. There after, His Majesty the Sultan visited the Capitals Museum, which narrates stories of Egyptian capital cities and their evolution over the ages.

On the return journey, His Majesty the Sultan sent a cable of thanks to President Sisi. In the cable, His Majesty the Sultan expressed his sincere appreciati­on to the president for the warm welcome and hospitalit­y.

His Majesty lauded the opportunit­y offered by the visit to review bilateral relations and means of enhancing these in various spheres to serve the joint interests of the Omani and Egyptian peoples.

His Majesty the Sultan prayed to Allah the Almighty to protect President Sisi and grant him good health and a long life to achieve further aspiration­s of progress and prosperity for the Egyptian people.
