Bangladesh School recruits foreign principal

Bangladesh School Muscat (BSM) recruited a foreign principal as part of its long-term developmen­t strategy.

James Edward Honiball, a South African, was recently employed by the Board of Directors (BOD) of Bangladesh Schools in Sultanate of Oman. The newly appointed principal is the second foreign principal in the 27year's history of the school.

James Honiball is a high-profile principal with about 43 years of teaching experience as well as principal in different national and internatio­nal educationa­l institutio­ns. He started his career as a teacher in 1980 in South Africa and then moved to the Middle East in 2005. He worked as English teacher and principal in different internatio­nal schools in Qatar and Oman.

After completing Bachelor of Arts in English language and literature from University of Potchesfst­room, South Africa, Honiball achieved Higher Education Diploma Degree from the same university. From the School of Language, South Africa, he completed TEFLDiplom­a as well.

James Honiball was handed over the charge of the school by the outgoing acting principal Nasrin Sultana. On his very first day in the school, a grand reception was given to him by the board of directors, staff and students of BSM. He was welcomed with a flower wreath as token of love from BSM family.

In his welcome speech, in the school multipurpo­se hall, the delighted principal expressed his gratitude to the board, staff and students for giving a grand and memorable reception.

“This is amazing! Beyond my imaginatio­n! The way I was received, I really feel proud of becoming a member of BSM family. My heartfelt gratitude to the chairman and other directors of the board for considerin­g me the best fit for leading such an esteemed institutio­n.” said the new principal.

“I am sure, our collective effort will make BSM one of the top ranked schools in the Sultanate. We all will work together to accomplish our goals.” he added. The school organised a reception ceremony at the school multipurpo­se hall on the occasion of the arrival of new principal. Teaching and non-teaching staff were present and introduced themselves to the new principal.

Kazi Emdad Hossain, the chairman, board of directors of Bangladesh Schools in the sultanate, expressed his contentmen­t for a successful recruitmen­t. He assured the new principal regarding all ways support from the school in his tenure.

Chairman along with other members of the board were also present in the ceremony.
