OPAZ holds workshop on advantages of SEZS, industrial cities
The Public Authority for Special Economic Zones and Free Zones (OPAZ), represented by the investment development sector, organised a workshop highlighting the existing investments in different sectors and the competitive advantages of the special economic zones, free zones, and industrial cities that are affiliated with OPAZ.
The workshop attracted a group of commercial affairs employees in the zones.
The two-day workshop was held to familiarise employees and participants of the key investment projects in the Special Economic Zone at Duqm (SEZAD), Sohar Free Zone, Salalah Free Zone, Al Mazunah Free Zone and the industrial cities, operated by the Public Establishment for Industrial Estates ‘Madayn’.
The workshop also aimed at exchanging expertise and knowledge between OPAZ employees and other zones.
Moreover, the workshop touched on the procedures related to regulating the investment environment and managing investment opportunities, as well as the possibility of reforming the procedures for land leasing service and its digital transformation plan as the land selection e-service, implemented in the Special Economic Zone at
Duqm.
Furthermore, the workshop included discussion sessions to develop a joint business plan aimed at promoting and ensuring integration between the zones affiliated with OPAZ. This serves providing a flexible and attractive work environment for employees of commercial affairs and specialised departments in the different zones.
Accordingly, it will be contributing to achieving the target objectives of the plans and initiatives developed to improve the business environment and services provided to investors.
It is worth noting that the Public Authority for Special Economic Zones and Free Zones (OPAZ) is executing a number of initiatives that will enhance the relative advantages of the special economic zones, free zones and industrial cities that are supervised by OPAZ.
