International School of Choueifat to host ‘Sabis Stars’ event in Muscat
The main organising committee of Sabis Stars revealed details of the global Sabis Stars event at the International School of Choueifat.
The global event is held every two years among students of Sabis schools around the world. This year, it will be hosted by the International School of Choueifat – Muscat in cooperation with the Ministry of Education from April 19 to 20.
At the beginning, Hamad bin Faisal al Raisi from the main committee of the event said, “We are pleased that the school is hosting the Sabis Stars event, which provides a platform for students to display their talents in various fields of arts and sciences, including advertising, public speaking, debate, poetry recital, creative writing, photography, drawing, science, and singing.
“It is certain that the event is an exceptional opportunity to enhance students’ creativity and innovation skills and discover and support their talents. This event also contributes to building bridges of communication between Sabis school students from different parts of the world and inspires them to work together to build a better future.”
Fadi Kleib, director of Regional Projects at Sabis schools, pointed out that the event is expected to be attended by about 500 students representing 36 Sabis schools from 17 countries, making it a unique display of academic abilities, innovation, and student talent.
The competitions provide students with an opportunity to showcase their talents in various fields, as they compete in advertising design, where the participating team will create a marketing campaign that includes the brand name, logo, short video, and billboard.
The event will also include a poetry recitation competition, a creative writing competition, a debate competition, science and innovations exhibition, as well as a public speaking, plastic arts and photography competition, and a singing competition.
He stressed that the competitions are subject to careful arbitration by specialised committees that include experts in various fields, in addition to representatives of the Ministry of Education, and that arbitration mechanisms ensure transparency and fairness in evaluating students’ creativity.
Armen Mansourian, director of the Choueifat School, said, “Preparation for the event began last year through specialised committees and teams that planned and organised this major global event to ensure the success of the competitions according to everyone’s expectations. There are 48 expert arbitrators from various government institutions, including universities and the Ministry of Education in the Sultanate of Oman.”
He also thanked the Ministry of Education, saying, “We thank the Ministry for their continued support and cooperation by harnessing resources and allocating professionals to ensure the success of this event. We appreciate their cooperation and look forward to continuing to work towards common goals in the future.”
