Hotel revenues up 8.3%
Muscat - Revenues of Oman’s 3- to 5-star hotels rose 8.3% in 2024 till the end of March to Ro71.907mn compared to Ro66.395mn in the same period last year.
National Centre for Statistics and Information attributes this increase to a significant rise in the total number of hotel guests, which grew 12.1% to 598,128 till the end of March this year, up from 533,790 guests in March 2023.
Hotel occupancy increased 2.2% till the end of March 2024.
Breaking down the demographics, Omani guests increased 2.3% to 189,275, while GCC guests decreased 2.7% to 32,283. European guest numbers registered a substantial growth of 23.9% to 217,284.
The number of guests from the Americas totalled 19,521 – up 13.4% - while African guests recorded a 7.7% decrease to 2,735. Asian guests surged 21.6% to 79,415, and those from Oceania totalled 8,661.
