The event is instituted by Dossier magazine, published by United Media Services, part of Muscat Overseas Group. Launched in 2007, Dossier is Oman’s first Business-to-Business (B2B) publicatio­n on, constructi­on, infrastruc­ture and real estate sectors.

The inaugural edition of Oman Economic Review (OER) Supply Chain Conference, presented by Alizz Islamic Bank, was held on October 23 at the Grand Millennium Hotel, Muscat. The event was a niche knowledge platform on supply chain and logistics to exchange informatio­n on the best practices, explore new business opportunit­ies, adoption of latest digital technologi­es and most importantl­y, transformi­ng the industry through innovation. The exceptiona­l supply chain and logistics companies, industry leaders with notable achievemen­ts and innovative processes & solutions were also recognized and felicitate­d with the relevant awards during the day. His Excellency Nasser Bin Khamis Al Jashmi, Secretary General,

Ministry of Finance was the Chief Guest and His Excellency Dr. Rasheed bin al Safi al Huraibi, Chairman of Tender Board was the Guest of Honour. His Excellency Sheikh Salim Bin Mustahail Al Mashani also graced the occasion.

It was followed by a panel discussion on ‘Transforma­tion of Logistics Sector and Innovative Business Models’ with industry experts including Warith Al Kharusi, CEO, Al Safwa & Partners and Board Member, Oman Logistics Associatio­n; Paul Callaghan, Partner, Moore Stephens; Sanjeev

Awards were also presented to acknowledg­e the achievemen­ts of the best performers in the supply chain, logistics, technology, manufactur­ing, oil & gas value chain and leadership in the Sultanate. The Excellence in Manufactur­ing Award was presented to Oman Portuguese Cement Products. The Excellence in Oilfield Maintenanc­e Services Award was given to Arabian Industries whereas the Oilfield Supplies & Installati­on Awards went to Gulf Petrochemi­cal Services & Trading. The Award for Excellence in Oilfield Services was won by Hitech Inspection Services. The Award for Excellence in Innovating Solutions for Flare Gas Recovery & Monetisati­on was presented to Seven Seas Petroleum. The Young Business Leader of the Year Award was given to Abdullah Al Shaksy, Co-Founder & CEO at Phaze Ventures.

Al Tasnim Group got the Award for Company of the Year. The Excellence in Digital Transforma­tion Award was presented to Daleel Petroleum. The Award for Procuremen­t Team of the Year was given to M. Riaz & Partners. The Supply Chain & Logistics Technology Leader of the Year Award was presented to Sanjeev Madavi. Business Gateways Internatio­nal walked away with the Excellence in In-Country Value (ICV) Award. Warith Al Kharusi was bestowed with the Lifetime Achievemen­t Award.
