In a statement to Oman News Agency, Al Dheeb said that the meetings discussed more involvement for the private sector in investments. It has been agreed to exchange visits and information to promote available investment opportunities in free economic zones.
The two sides also considered steps to reach memorandum of understanding in the field of SME development. They agreed to upgrade contacts between KOM and its counterpart in Singapore. The minutes of the meetings state that the two sides agreed to exchange visits for transportation specialists from the Sultanate to review the experience of Singapore in the field of public transport.
In the regional municipalities, the minutes recommended that Oman benefits from the Singaporean experience in the field of wastewater treatment and the use of treated water.
They also recommended that Omani delegations study the Singaporean experience in the field of integrated waste management and power generation. An invitation was extended to Singaporean companies to invest in the Sultanate’s waste management.
The meeting also covered the Singaporean experience in the construction of roads, landfill management, recycling and privatisation. — ONA MUSCAT — Khalil bin Abdullah al Khonji, Chairman of Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry (OCCI) met at OCCI HQS’ yesterday with Australian business women delegation led by Dr Fiona Hill, in the presence of OCCI board members, chairwoman of business women forum committee and business women in the Sultanate.
During the meeting Al Khonji briefed the visiting delegation on the services of OCCI and its branches. He also talked about the chamber’s role in organising visits and meetings of trade delegations and about OCCI’S committees and councils in general and business women forum in particular.
He also highlighted the importance of permanent and continuous co-operation between business women in both countries and bringing about economic and investment opportunities in different fields.

emphasised
the importance of trade co-operation between Oman and Australia and sponsoring women initiatives in all trade fields, hoping to step-up co-operation with OCCI in organising and conducting a number of similar meetings and visits.
Members of the Australian business women delegation who work in fields like handicrafts, English schools, hotels, tourist offices and graphic design, were introduced during the meeting. — ONA
