Almouj Golf attracting more players

-

ALMOUJ Golf at The Wave, Muscat welcomed more than 1,000 players during the first month of opening. Reaction to the course has been extremely enthusiastic with a constant flow of players booking tee times to play either 9 or 18 holes.

The driving range has also been very popular and has been visited by golfers of all levels during the first month. This floodlit facility is available well into the evenings and, given the current idyllic temperatures, has proven to be a popular stop off on the way home from work.

December also saw Almouj Golf hold their first members’ tournament in the form of a Festive Scramble. 36 members, divided into teams of 4, competed against each other in a good natured but hard fought pre-christmas competition. This was the first event in a full programme of members’ tournaments, details of which will be published as and when they are confirmed.

Commenting on the success of the first month of opening, St John Kelliher, General Manager Almouj Golf said, “We are delighted by the response we have received during this first month of operations. We have welcomed both seasoned golfers and beginners to the course and its facilities with the feedback received being extremely positive. There has been a keen interest in the membership packages which we have tailored to suit the various needs of individuals, families, juniors, students, overseas and corporate members. The new Mid-week category, which we introduced based on feedback we received, is also proving a welcome addition.”

He added “The team at Almouj Golf has worked extremely hard to ensure that all our patrons receive the best level of service, and that the course and facilities cater to the varying needs of players of all levels. It is a real pleasure to see the results of all the hard work and to receive all the positive feedback from those who have experienced Almouj Golf during its opening month.”

Inspired by Oman and designed by Greg Norman, the course pays homage to the Sultanate’s unique topography by combining natural elements of water, grass and sand and offers panoramic views of the Gulf of Oman and the Al Hajar mountains.
