His Majesty greeted by dignitaries
MUSCAT: His Majesty Sultan Qaboos has received cables of greetings from State Council Chairman Dr Yahya bin Mahfoudh Al Mantheri, Majlis Ash’shura Chairman Shaikh Khalid bin Hilal al Maawali, Minister Responsible for Defence Affairs Sayyid Badr bin Saud al Busaidy and Lt Gen Hassan bin Mohsin al Shraiqi, Inspector General of Police and Customs, on the 46th anniversary of the blessed Renaissance Day.
In his cable, the Chairman of the State Council said: “It gives me honour personally and on behalf the honourable members of the State Council and its employees, to extend to Your Majesty our sincerest greetings and best wishes on the 46th anniversary of the blessed Renaissance Day, praying to Allah the Almighty to return the occasion, while Your Majesty enjoy good health, happiness and our beloved country further glory, growth and prosperity under your wise leadership.”
“Your Majesty; the anniversary of the auspicious occasion of July 23 reminds us of the blessed Renaissance march you have achieved with all the wisdom and perseverance along with your sincere people since over four decades ago which caused the Sultanate to stand out among advanced world. The road was not easy but you paved it with your solid determination, sincere efforts and great sacrifices which came to fruition to the benefit of all citizen and residents.
When contemplating the achievements which have been made in various sectors, it becomes clear the huge amount of efforts exerted since the very beginning which spanned the sectors of education, healthcare, transport, social welfare, economy, judiciary, security, defence, parliament and municipal councils.
Over the years of Renaissance, the Omani citizen has always constituted the pivot of development and its noble objective and that is exactly what has been realised, thanks to the qualified nationals who assumed their jobs each in his/her respective fields.
Your Majesty; whatever sacrifices we presented we won’t be able to return the favour to our beloved nation which gave us welfare, attention, stability and unlimited support, we only pray to Allah to enable us to exert more efforts so that our country remains as superior and civilised as it is.
We pray to Allah to grant Your Majesty success and grace and your country blessing and bounties.”
In his cable, the Chairman of the Majlis Ash’shura said: “Your Majesty; ever since you assumed the leadership of the Sultanate on July 23, 1970, you have promised a new age of comprehensive development and you have kept your promises to your people as the country witnessed progress and prosperity.
You have laid the foundation of genuine democracy for Majlis Ash’shura, a democracy that is stemming from the Islamic faith and the Omani values. Consequently, the shura march has made steady steps in accordance with the needs of the society and in implementation of the objectives laid down by Your Majesty which aim to achieve the welfare and dignified life for citizens.
Thanks to Your Majesty, the Sultanate has stood out among the world countries in all fields. The Renaissance Day is an eternal day in the history of Oman. On this Renaissance anniversary we pledge to support your development plans in the political, social and economic fields so that this nation reaches the highest point of progress. We pledge to Your Majesty to exert our maximum effort to preserve the achievements which have been made thanks to your wise leadership.
As we bear witness to the glory of the blessed Renaissance and the achievements of the government of Oman both inside and outside the country, and on the occasion of the Renaissance Day, I am honoured on behalf of the members and secretariat-general of Majlis Ash’shura, to express our gratitude coupled with our congratulations to Your Majesty and praying to Allah to return the occasion while you enjoy good health and happiness.
In his cable, the Minister Responsible for Defence Affairs said: “Your Majesty, the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, the anniversary of July 23 is a patriotic day in the history of Oman; it’s the day when the nation renews its firm steps towards a brighter future supported by the former achievements,”
“Marking this blissful occasion, it’s an honour to me and to your courageous armed forces and all the affiliates of the Ministry of Defence to express our best greetings and sincere wishes to Your Majesty praying to Allah to protect you and keep you as leader of the triumphant march,” Sayyid Badr said in his cable.
“Your Majesty; Your Armed Forces are marking this auspicious occasion and present itself, after 46 years of the blessed Renaissance, as an advance, civilised military force which has contributed alongside the other state institutions to laying the ground for a flourishing era distinguished by peace, stability and development all across the Sultanate.
The development being witnessed by your armed forces is the fruit of the generous attention and support accorded by Your Majesty. The armed forces have achieved an excellent standing in terms of training, arming and organisation and their role was not confined to the military tasks but also a major partner in the development process of the blessed Renaissance,”

In his cable, the Inspector General of Police and Customs said: “Your Majesty, the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces: It gives me honour and all the affiliates of Royal Oman Police, to express our greetings to Your Majesty on the occasion of July 23 anniversary praying to Allah to return the occasion while you enjoy good health and happiness and the Omani people more progress and prosperity.
Your Majesty: the blessed Renaissance is an everlasting occasion in the hearts of your sincere people. Consecutive generations have marked the day when you started the march of development and laid its foundation with your wise visions.
Your sons the affiliates of ROP are marking the occasion while enjoying the fruits of the blessed Renaissance. They remember and appreciated your sacrifices over the years of the blessed Renaissance and they follow your example and obey your orders. We all renew our pledge of loyalty and allegiance to Your Majesty on this day.”
