2 tankers join OSC fleet

MUSCAT: Two MR tankers named Dhank Silver and Madha Silver joined the fleet of Oman Shipping Company (OSC), as the company’s fleet stand at 50 different vessels.

The two tankers were built on HMD shipyard of Hyundai in Ulsan, the Republic of Korea.

The two tankers are the seventh and eighth tankers of the Silver Project, which is executed by OSC with Shell Internatio­nal to build 10 medium-sized with capacity of 50,000 DWT each.

The new vessels equipped with the latest navigation and safety systems.

The two tankers will be under the technical management of Oman Ship Management Company, one of the OSC’s subsidiari­es, which manage more than 75 per cent of the fleet. AL MUSANNAH: The 7th Educationa­l Forum for Teaching Staff and Relevant Profession­s was concluded at Millennium Resort in the Wilayat of Al Musannah on Tuesday.

The three-day forum was organised by the Sultan Qaboos Higher Centre for Culture and Science (SQHCCS) under the theme “Knowledge and Developmen­t”.

The forum targeted teaching staff of the Islamic Sciences Institutes and the Holy Quran Schools, in addition to some of the teaching-related administra­tive, supervisor­y and technical jobs in the centre.

The forum aimed at highlighti­ng the importance of planning in the developmen­t and change processes in educationa­l institutio­ns and polishing skills of participan­ts in modern sciences to learn new computer programs used in the teaching and learning processes.

Further, the forum aimed at raising the level of profession­al developmen­t for teachers and the developmen­t of scientific and educationa­l skills, as well as upgrading capabiliti­es of all employees of educationa­l institutio­ns of the centre. — ONA
