Sultanate hosts two-day Gulf Poetry Forum

SALALAH: The Gulf Poetry Forum will begin on Wednesday at the theatre of the Directorate-General of Heritage and Culture in Governorate of Dhofar under the auspices of Shaikh Salim bin Mustahail al Mashani, Adviser at the Diwan of Royal Court.

The two-day forum is organised by the Ministry of Heritage and Culture.

The forum is part of the cultural programmes that were approved by GCC Ministers of Culture during their meeting that was held in Kuwait in October 2014.

Ahmed bin Salim al Hajri, Director-General of Heritage and Culture in Governorate of Dhofar said during a press conference that was held at the Directorate on Tuesday that the forum enhances joint Gulf cultural work.

He added that the forum attracts a large number of intellectuals, literary men, poetry researchers and poets.

He further said that organising the forum in Dhofar provides an opportunity to young talented literary men to meet with poets and artists and share views and experiences with them.
