Camp for youth conducted in Nizwa

August 23: A youth camp was organised in Daris by the Department of Sports Affairs in cooperation with the Wadi Kalbo Team of Nizwa Club and Nizwa Municipality.

About a hundred people from the team participated in the camp organised as part of the ‘Shababi’ (Youth) Programme 2016. The participants cleared trees in the valley, cleared waste in the town, cleaned falajs and mosques, placed waste baskets on the roadside and Valley Kalpoh, and painted houses.

Juma bin Mohammed al Batrani, head of the social committee, said: “We have provided all tools and materials the youth would need for the camp.”

“Kalbo team seeks to serve the community. The team has already held camps, including cleaning of mosques and streets,” Al Batrani said.

Shaikh Hamdan bin Nasser al Rumaithi, a member of Shura Council representing Nizwa, honoured the participants in the presence of Abdullah bin Mohammed al Batrani, Head of ‘Shababi’ (Youth) Committee for Sports Affairs in Al Dakhiliyah.
