UN lists three Dawood addresses in Karachi

-

UNITED NATIONS: Spelling out at least 14 latest aliases used by wanted underworld don Dawood Ibrahim Kaskar, the UN Security Council has listed three addresses under his name — all of them in Karachi in Pakistan, with one even in a defence colony.

Three of these addresses are a part of the dossier which India had furnished to both the UN and Islamabad. Three others, also purportedly provided by India, find a mention in the amended list, but have been struck down.

Islamabad has all along denied Dawood’s presence in Pakistan.

Under other information, the powerful UN organ said his father’s name is Sheikh Ibrahim Ali Kaskar, mother’s name is Amina Bi and wife’s name is Mehjabeen Shaikh.

“International arrest warrant issued by the Government of India,” it said.

The aliases and the addresses are part of what the UN says is one single amendment that has been carried out in its sanctions list, pertaining to the IS and Al Qaeda. The Committee’s IS and Al Qaeda Sanctions List is updated regularly on the basis of relevant information provided by member states and international and regional organisations, according to the Security Council press release. — IANS
