Quality care for renal patients

August 25: With the increasing prevalence of diabetes and hypertensi­on in Oman, the number of renal failure patients is rapidly growing, and to bring relief to such patients, leading global renal care provider Diaverum in local partnershi­p with Mustafa Sultan Science & Industry (MSSI) Co LLC has opened its first renal dialysis clinic in the Sultanate in Bausher, Muscat. The clinic, which is located in Bausher, supports the government efforts in providing renal care to 84 patients, thus delivering lifesaving treatment.

Dr Ali al Harbi, the Medical Director for Middle East, stressed the need for providing both safety and quality for patients with renal failure. “Statistics show there is an increase in the number of diabetics in GCC countries. Diabetes is a major factor that causes renal failure and the number of patients is increasing every year”, he added. According to the Ministry of Health figures, there is more than 1,800 kidney patients with an annual increase of 12 per cent.

Al Harbi said that those patients will be provided with first class dialysis and there is no alternativ­e apart from it. “We undertake the highest quality and safety standards and state-of-theart equipment in pleasant, comfortabl­e and modern environmen­t while being attended to by the Diaverum staff trained at the d.ACADEMY, an education programme that ensures highest education level”, said Al Harbi.

The session in Diaverum costs between RO 110 and RO 140 according to each case.
