Oman’s ambassador meets IAEA chief
VIENNA: Shaikh Dr Badr bin Mohammed bin Zahir al Hinai, Sultanate’s Ambassador to Austria and the Permanent Representative to the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), met with Yukiya Amano, IAEA DirectorGeneral, in Vienna on Sunday.
The two sides discussed fields of cooperation between the Sultanate and the IAEA and means of enhancing them to meet the Sultanate’s needs of nuclear technology in the fields of health, agriculture, industry, and water and environmental resources management.
The two sides also touched on the progress achieved in implementing the existing and future technical cooperation projects with the IAEA. — ONA MUSCAT: The Royal Navy of Oman (RNO) on Sunday began the naval drill ‘Asad Al Bahr 2/2016’. The drill continues till October 6th with assistance of jets of the Royal Air Force of Oman (RAFO).
Participant ships set off from Said bin Sultan Naval Base to the drill site.
The drill comes within the framework of the annual training plans pursued by the RNO that aims at sustaining the levels of readiness of the RNO fleet and its personnel in various marine disciplines. — ONA
