Khasab-Bandar Abbas ferry service begins

Director-General of Ports and Seafaring at Bahonar Port, Mohammed Mohsenee, said: “With the inauguration of ferry service between Khasab Port and Bandar Abbas, the possibility of weekly travel by citizens of two countries has become a reality.”

He said the marine distance between both ports is 71 miles (114 km). A representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs will be stationed in Bahonar Port for issuing visas to Omani citizens. Now, carrying 22-24 vehicles through this shipping lane is also possible, he said.
