Anantara resort opens its doors

TOURISM BOOST: The resort is owned by Ministry of Defence Pension Fund

AL JABAL AL AKHDAR: The official opening ceremony of Anantara Al Jabal Al Akhdar in the Niyabat of Al Jabal Al Akhdar in the Governorat­e of Al Dakhiliyah was held on Monday under the auspices of Sayyid Badr bin Saud al Busaidy, Minister Responsibl­e for Defence Affairs.

On the occasion of opening the Resort which is owned by the Ministry of Defence Pension Fund, The Minister said: ‘ The location of the resort has been carefully selected in the Niyabat of Al Jabal Al Akhdar which is witnessing comprehens­ive developmen­t under the wise leadership of His Majesty Sultan Qaboos.

Moreover, the area is known for its diversifie­d natural potential and unique climate compared to the other areas in the Gulf region.

This major tourism project is one of the projects that aim at providing luxury utilities in the Sultanate. It is also a contributi­on by the Ministry of Defence to the efforts made by the government to diversify sources of national economy, develop the tourism sector in the Sultanate, generate fresh job opportunit­ies for Omani youths, enhance the sources of revenues for the Ministry of Defence Pension Fund and diversity the investment of the Fund in the promising sectors in the Sultanate.

Mohammed bin Nasser al Rasbi, Secretary-General of the Ministry of Defence, said ‘The Ministry of Defence Pension Fund seeks to diversify its investment­s inside and outside the Sultanate in a bid to ensure good returns that help the Fund meets its obligation­s towards the Ministry of Defence and the Sultan’s Armed Forces’ retirees.

He added that the Resort is also a contributi­on by the Fund to activate the economic activities in the Sultanate and avail job opportunit­ies for Omanis.

He also noted that the Ministry of Defence Pension Fund will follow the same approach and will identify investment opportunit­ies in the Sultanate.
