PSM organises friendly cricket match to celebrate Oman National Day
MUSCAT: Pakistan School Muscat organised a friendly cricket match between National Youth Development Team (NYDT) and Pakistan School Muscat as part of the celebrations of 46th National Day of Oman.
Al Sayyid Ahmed bin Hilal al Busaidi (Wali of Muttrah) was the chief guest. Muhammad Ishaq (Commercial Consular, Embassy of Pakistan) and Dr Naveed Atif (Immigration Consular, Embassy of Pakistan) were present. PSM BODs chairman Adnan Shahzad, members, Attaullah Niazi, Senior Principal Pakistan School Systems in Oman, PSM Principal Khalid Jadoon, Principal Junior School Munnazza Ghafoor, faculty members and a large number of Pakistan community feted the occasion. The captain of the NYDT won the toss and elected to bat first and put up a target of 109 runs for the PSM team in 10 overs. Showing their topnotch performance in the next innings as well, the NYDT bowled out PSM for 74 runs to win by 35 runs and claim the trophy.
The chief guest gave away the medals to the players of both the teams and the trophy to the NYDT team. The umpires, scorers, commentators, the sponsors for the event, and the team managers were given prizes and souvenirs at this occasion. The chief guest was also presented with a special souvenir from Pakistan School Muscat.
Finally a walkathon brought the evening to an end followed by the refreshments.
