New direct flight to strengthen Oman-China ties

NEW DESTINATIO­N: Oman Air will fly four times a week to Guangzhou

Dec. 10: Oman Air launched its inaugural flight WY851 to Guangzhou, China on, Friday. The chief guest for the event was Yahya al Jabri, Chairman of Duqum Special Economic Zone.

The flight to Guangzhou is Oman Air’s first destinatio­n in China and the four times weekly flights will open up easy access to Oman Air’s range of destinatio­ns for customers from China as well as help to strengthen political, economic and social links between Oman and China.

The flight departed at 10.15 am and arrived just over six hours later in Guangzhou at 9 pm where there was an arrival ceremony before proceeding to the Four Seasons Hotel.

The launch of the new route is in response to significan­t customer demand and also demonstrat­es Oman Air’s commitment to continuing its ambitious and dynamic programme of fleet and network expansion and on board service developmen­ts. This has seen the company take delivery of outstandin­g new aircraft, introduce a range of exciting new destinatio­ns and launch new products and services which contribute to a seamless passenger experience. The return flight WY 852 departs Guangzhou at 6.25 am and is scheduled to arrive in Muscat at 11 am. Oman Air will run flights to Guangzhou from Muscat on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays using its widebody A330. The planes take off from Muscat Internatio­nal Airport, Oman, at 10.15am and reach Guangzhou at 21.00. Oman Air flights depart Guangzhou to Muscat on Sundays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays at 6.25 pm and land in Muscat at 11 am.
