Oman LNG to support improved road access

- BUSINESS REPORTER MUSCAT

Dec 20: As part of its unrelenting corporate social responsibility efforts, Oman LNG inked an agreement with the Ministry of Transport and Communications to support the development of villages around the Wilayat of Sur. The agreements were signed by Salim bin Mohammed al Nuaimi, Transport Under-Secretary at the Ministry of Transport and Communications, and Khalid bin Abdullah al Massan, CEO of Oman LNG Development Foundation.

The importance of this project eases the challenges faced by people living in these areas as they commute their daily lives. By this agreement, the company will fund the development of over 6 kilometres of concrete pavements in Tiwi and over 3 km in Wadi Bani Jaber.

This project builds on previous support by Oman LNG to these areas, where Oman LNG initially has supported 36 villages with concrete roads, protection walls and graveyard boundary walls with over RO 700,000 in funding.

“Oman LNG understands the importance of partnering with the community and we are happy to continue playing our role as an establishment that offers resultoriented support as a way of improving the quality of life for everyone in the country,” said Khalid al Massan.

With its contribution to the nation’s social development, Oman LNG’s leading social investment programme has supported many significant initiatives and projects ranging from healthcare and education to preserving the environment and road safety. Oman LNG continues to reflect its sincere interest to embed the principles of social responsibility as part of its core existence and by strengthening the cooperation between the public and private sectors, supplement the national economy and ambitious development plans implemented in the Sultanate.
