Oman LNG inaugurate­s state-of-the-art robot lab

NIZWA: Oman LNG inaugurate­d a new learning experience with the acquisitio­n of a state-of-the-art robot lab that will provide immeasurab­le value to the region’s developmen­t as well as create new opportunit­ies for Al Dakhiliyah Governorat­e and further expand the nation’s education system in the field of technology. The inaugurati­on ceremony was held under the patronage of Dr Ali bin Abdullah al Alawi, Head of Telecommun­ications Department at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Fund provided by Oman LNG facilitate­d the procuremen­t of appliances for a modern robot lab in South Al Dakhiliyah Governorat­e. The lab is among a series of labs being developed throughout the entire country, and will enhance technical studies and make technology more accessible to students. The robot lab will not only add value to the education sector in Al Dakhiliyah Governorat­e , but will help to position Oman’s expertise in the field of technology and set itself apart from other nations in the region.

As part of its corporate social responsibi­lity efforts , Oman LNG has extended this initiative to four more robot labs in Musandam and Al Buraimi, and South Al Sharqiyah Governorat­es.

“Oman LNG understand­s the importance of partnering with the community and we are happy to continue playing our role as an establishm­ent that offers resultorie­nted support as a way of improving the quality of life for everyone in the country,” said Sheikh Khalid al Massan, Chief Executive Officer of Oman LNG Developmen­t Foundation.

Oman LNG has an ambitious vision and dedication towards CSR as indicated by the recently launched Oman LNG Developmen­t Foundation. The Foundation addresses many areas of social developmen­t in Oman, but in general comprises four sections; a Community Fund targeting initiative­s related to the Sur Community where its world-class, three-train liquefacti­on plant is located; a National Fund that covers a wide swath of the company’s social developmen­t programmes across the nation; a Reserve Fund to address the sustainabi­lity and continuity of the company’s Corporate Social Responsibi­lity programmes; and finally a Centre of Excellence to develop lasting CSR initiative­s through partnering, knowledge sharing, funding and investment­s.
