MEC students shine in the BP Young Adventurers Camp
A DELEGATION consisting of 8 students from Middle East College (MEC) participated in the BP Young Adventurers Camp that was held in Dibba, Al Fujairah in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) for two days during December 2016. More than 100 people from different Gulf countries participated in this camp which included various activities and competitions aimed to entrench different principles like courage, challenge, safety maintenance, teamwork, cooperation and respect to name a few in the youth. MEC students’ participation has emerged greatly by winning 11 medals including 5 gold medals in the different competitions like building boats from natural resources, swimming, climbing, cycling, beach’s challenges, kayaking and others.
Expressing his happiness for being a participant in this camp, Mohammed al Harrasi said: “This camp came to develop and instil the good qualities and principles in the participants and to enhance their skills and abilities. As one of the participants, I got the opportunity to challenge myself and explore my potentials and talents more where I won 2 medals in two different competitions. I would like to thank MEC for providing me with this chance and BP for organising such events that contribute in the development of the society”.
The camp is organised annually between October and March targeting youth from the Gulf region. Moreover, it provides the youth with a fun, educational and worthwhile experience and encourages them to develop an adventurous and innovative spirit for their future. In addition, MEC insures its continuous and full support for its students by providing them with the right opportunities and guidance in all areas.
