Lexus RC F teams win big at 2016 Autobacs Super GT Series
OTE — Chevrolet and Cadillac Service team members have bagged 9 awards for the third quarter of 2016 at the General Motors Service and Parts Excellence Programme. These are in addition to the 9 awards for the second quarter of 2016 and also 8 awards bagged for the first quarter of 2016. In an effort to drive customer satisfaction and to provide world-class ownership experience for each and every Chevrolet and Cadillac customer, General Motors has instituted this awards programme in 2016. Dealers from across the region compete in this coveted contest and top performing dealers are awarded by General Motors on a quarterly basis and also on annual basis.
“Chevrolet and Cadillac customers experience best-in-class service in Oman and the stream of accolades speaks about the capability and focus of our service personnel. This is a reflection of OTE Group’s commitment to providing quality customer care at every stage of vehicle ownership” said Anil Dua, Managing Director, OTE Group.
OTE Group in association with General Motors constantly undertakes customer focused initiatives. The state-of-the-art Chevrolet Service facility at Ghala recently introduced ‘1 hour maintenance’ for scheduled maintenance jobs with pre-booked appointments up to 2 days in advance. LEXUS RC F made waves recently at the 2016 Autobacs Super GT series by winning twin podium finishes. The Lexus camp lit up with celebrations at the Round 3 of the 2016 AUTOBACS SUPER GT 250 km race held at the Motegi Twin Ring in Tochigi Prefecture, Japan.
The race was originally scheduled to be run at Autopolis circuit in May. However, due to the aftermath of the Kumamoto Earthquakes in April this year, the location and date were changed. The rescheduling saw the Round 3 qualifier and race both held on the same day — a first in the history of SUPER GT.
The reasons to cheer were plenty in the GT500 class of the race as the Lexus line-up of drivers displayed an exhilarating performance, securing positions from the sixth all the way up to the runners-up spot.
Almost clinching the top spot was the No 39 DENSO KOBELCO SARD Lexus RC F driven by Heikki Kovalainen and Kohei Hirate, followed by Daisuke Ito and Nick Cassidy who gave their No 36 au TOM’s Lexus RC F just the right amount of push for a podium finish in the third place.
No 6 WAKO’S 4CR Lexus RC F and No 19 WedsSport ADVAN Lexus RC F claimed the fourth and fifth position, with ZENT CERUMO Lexus RC F closing the proceedings for Lexus with a sixth place finish in the exciting race.
