Emergency medicine expo held in Nizwa

The exhibition also provided informatio­n on cardio-pulmonary resuscitat­ion, first aid for burns and fractures

The Emergency Medicine Exhibition Day was organised by the Emergency Department of Nizwa Hospital at Nizwa Grand Mall on Friday.

The exhibition coincided with the events of Emergency Medicine conference that will be held next Sunday. It included many events which covered emergency medicine and related subjects.

The event was presided over by Shaikh Ahmed bin Said al Hadhrami, a member of the Shura Council representi­ng Nizwa. Dr Khalifa bin Hamad al Shaqsi, Director of Nizwa Hospital, and Dr Said al Baroumi, Director Assistant of Medical Affairs and Medical Assistance and Dr Ali bin Zayed al Busaidi, Head of the Accident and Emergency Department, were also present.

Dr Lozah al Anqoudi, organiser from Emergency Department of Nizwa Hospital, said: “Different sections of Nizwa Hospital participat­ed in the exhibition. They provided informatio­n about cardio-pulmonary resuscitat­ion (CPR), reviving cases of suffocatio­n in children and first aid for burns and fractures.”

There were participan­ts from outside the hospital. Nizwa Healthy Lifestyle Project offered free checkups for blood pressure and diabetes, while Omani Associatio­n of Tobacco Control focused on the dangers of smoking.

The event also saw participat­ion from Omani Cancer Associatio­n in Al Dakhiliyah, Oman Hereditary Blood Disorder Associatio­n, Traffic Department, Civil Defence and Ambulance Department in Al Dakhiliyah, Nizwa Sports Complex, ROP, Rowad Al Mostaqbal Language School, Smile Care Dental Clinic and Sohar Bank.

Shaikh Ahmed bin Said al Hadhrami honoured all the participan­ts.
