Theatrical week at Musannah College of Technology concludes

The first theatrical week at Al Musannah College of Technology concluded on Wednesday. The week began on January 15 and concluded on January 18 under the auspices of the College dean Dr Issa al Toobi.

The plays staged as part of the theatrical week, held the audience spell-bound.

The week commenced with play titled “Al Sayes” that was written and directed by Mubarak al Fudhaili. Some of the most promising students in the field of theatre, participat­ed in this play.

On the next day, a breathtaki­ng show named “Naeem al Khirfan” was staged.

This play was written by Bader al Hamdani and directed by Salim al Shaqsi.

On the third day of the theatrical week, a show entitled “Ana Hua” written by Khalil al Balushi was staged. The final play of the day and concluding the theatrical week was the roleplay “Al Teeh”. This play was written by Abbas al Hayek. The shows displayed some outstandin­g performanc­es that kept the audience delighted.

At the end of the theatrical week, the judges adjudged “Al Teeh” as the best and gave it the first place for the best integrated acting. The second place went to “Naeem Al Khirfan”. The best collaborat­ive work was also rewarded to this play.

Certificat­es and motivation­al rewards were distribute­d to best directed shows. Appreciati­on certificat­es were also given to the best actor and the best script writer. Certificat­es were given to the best acoustics, lighting, make-up and costumes.

It is worth mentioning that the theatrical week aimed at training youths in performing arts. Al Musannah College of Technology encourages students to participat­e in these kind of activities in the college.
