ISG students shine at TAISM MUNC 2017

MUSCAT: Nine delegates from the Indian School Al Ghubra attended the Model United Nations Conference organised by The American International School Muscat (TAISM) from January 20-21. The team of delegates, including Aishwarya Sen, Kevin Vigi, Siddhant Suri Dhawan, Prerna Ravi, Madhumathi Govind, Nithin Premkumar, Adveteeya Ganti, Arambh Shah and Rutwik S D, was accompanied by ISG MUN coordinator Maleka Ariwala. The delegates debated on pressing world problems such as Ocean Acidification and Rights of Refugees. They proved their mettle as budding diplomats by discussing issues that transcend global boundaries.

Around 75 delegates from six different schools attended the conference and it proved to be an excellent opportunity for the students to interact on an intellectual and interpersonal level.

The performance of the delegates of ISG was excellent with Siddhant Suri Dhawan bagging the Outstanding Delegate Award in the Committee.

The delegates were enthusiastically involved in the drafting of three resolutions as they worked tirelessly towards achieving consensus through cooperation and collaboration. The students expressed their gratitude to the school authorities as well as TAISM for giving them this excellent opportunity to hone their debating skills and become responsible global citizens.
