Bank Sohar receives ‘Golden Order of Merit in the field of CSR’ award

MUSCAT: In recognition of its numerous philanthropic initiatives and its role as one of leading financial institutions in the field of Corporate Social Responsibility, Bank Sohar has received the distinguished Arab Organisation for Social Responsibility ‘Golden Order of Merit in the field of CSR’ award at the 11th Social Responsibility Forum and Awards Ceremony. This award marks the first award received by the Bank in 2017, and the fourth that the Bank has received from the Arab Organisation for Social Responsibility for this category.

The prestigious award was handed over to the Bank at a glittering event held at the Al Bustan Rotana Hotel — Dubai on January 24. Receiving the award on behalf of the Bank were Munira Abdulnabi Macki, GM of HR and Corporate Support. The prestigious event was attended by representatives from various prominent institutions and dignitaries from the Arab world.

Sharing her thoughts on the significance of the award, Munira Abdulnabi Macki said, “It is a great privilege to be honoured once again with this esteemed award. This recognition truly endorses the Bank’s community focused strategy and validates our core objective of embedding Corporate Social Responsibility and sustainability within the very core of our business. As a part of its operational philosophy, Bank Sohar has always made significant contributions towards community development across the Sultanate as well as several other causes across different fields.
