Kuwaiti press highlights Emir’s visit to Oman

MUSCAT: A number of Kuwaiti newspapers highlighte­d the three-day state visit being held by Shaikh Sabah Al Ahmed Al Jabir al Sabah, Emir of the State of Kuwait to the Sultanate.

The Arabic-language Al Anbaa daily newspaper carried a front page headline as follows: ‘The two leaders reviewed the GCC firm historic relations to achieve the aspiration­s and ambitions of their peoples’. Another headline read: ‘The Emir and the Sultan discussed bilateral cooperatio­n in various fields’

Al Nahar daily newspaper carried the news as a main story with a headline reading: ‘A Royal reception’ mentioning the two leaders’ brotherly meeting during which they exchanged cordial conversati­ons and reviewed the excellent relations binding the Sultanate and the State of Kuwait.

Alrai newspaper carried a front page headline reading: ‘The Sultan and people of Oman receive the Emir with open arms’. The newspaper explained ways of fostering bilateral relations between the two countries in various fields through the visit of Shaikh Sabah Al Ahmed Al Jabir al Sabah to the Sultanate of Oman.

Al Watan newspaper said that the visit acquires a huge importance as it comes within the framework of the two countries’ joint keenness to enhance fraternal relations with their brothers in the GCC states while further fostering their bilateral relations.

In the same context, Al Roya newspaper described the visit as ‘a cornerston­e for understand­ings and crystalliz­ation of joint visions to achieve regional security and stability. The newspaper affirmed the Omani-Kuwaiti relations have transforme­d from the traditiona­l form to wider and deeper horizons.
